Hello everyone!

We are getting real close to the wedding and I wanted to give you a heads up on a couple of things! Those of you who will have a car in Las Vegas, I wanted to make sure you had addresses for the Golden Nugget and the Guardian Angel Cathedral:

Those of you who would like to take advantage of free transportation to and from the Cathedral for the wedding, we have a shuttle that will start picking up our guest at 6:00 pm at the Golden Nugget. After the wedding the shuttle will take you back to the Golden Nugget for the reception. I think that is it for now! See you real soon!

Invites Have Been Sent!

The invitations to our wedding have been mailed! There are a few that we are still trying to get addresses for. Once you have sent in your RSVP postcard, we will send you more information about the Golden Nugget and also how to book and get our discount code. If you are unhappy about the rates that we have negotiated with the Golden Nugget, please feel free to book a place to stay outside of the Golden Nugget (or you can book with the Golden Nugget without our code).
Don’t book with our code and cancel a couple of weeks before the wedding. Any rooms that are booked through our discount code and subsequently canceled will be billed to my father. So, if you think you are going to use Princeline or any other hotel booking agent, please do not use our code. Thanks for your cooperation!

The Proposal

Dave and I have some exciting news: we are getting married! If you were like me, you were wondering when the proposal was going to happen! Dave caught me completely off-guard! The way he proposed fit my personality, and our relationship. If you did not know already, I spend a significant amount of my time playing an eclectic variety of computer games. Unbeknownst to me over the past few weeks, Dave had been trying to discern what games I was especially interested in playing. But recently, I changed my normal repertoire of games, and this apparently threw off his plans to suprise me.

This weekend (May 9th-11th, 2008), Dave was playing a computer game on his laptop, the little one that he keeps in his green bag that he takes everywhere with him, that I expressed some interest in. The game is called Capitalism. Capitalism is an old game (10+ years), but I found the game quite interesting. Dave downloaded the game from his website onto my computer and set it up. To me it was nothing out of the ordinary for Dave to show me how to play a new game inside and out. The game was somewhat complex, I needed more direction than was provided by the in-game tutorial scenarios.

After he installed the game, but before I decided I wanted to play it, we went to grill some hamburgers. After we finished grilling, we came back inside the apartment before we initiated the feast on our juicy hamburgers. We put in the movie (read: I decided that I wanted to watch a move, and put in the movie) and I was about to sit down and start in on my hamburger. Dave said, "how about you play your game, the one I just setup?" All I wanted to do at that point was to eat my hamburger and watch the movie. After going back and forth with eachother for about five minutes, on how I didn't want to play the game at that time, and how I should play the game now, I gave in and started to half-heartedly play the game.

After clicking around for about 2 minuets, Dave told me that I had played enough and if I still wanted to watch the movie instead of playing the game, 'Retire' from the game to quit the program and to see how well I scored. Being new to the game, it took me a moment to find the Retire button, by this time Dave was on his knee next to me, I had assumed he was trying to help me find the retire command. I hit the Retire button and then the Hall of Fame screen popped up. Next to the number one rank, the high score read, 'Monica, Will You Marry Me?' I said yes without hesitation! (She hesitated, she cried and started kissing me, being the budding young attorney, I needed an audible response of yes or no). It was so sweet, and the way I pictured my romantic wedding proposal! (I will be adding more screen shots with all the other games I had tirelessly gotten the high score and arranged for Monica to see, but were thwarted by her uncanny ability to unwittingly be uncooperative).
